Om dit probleem aan te pakken, onderzoekt <strong>Kevin Stekelorom<\/strong>, onderzoeker aan de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uphf.fr\/\"><strong>Universit\u00e9 Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) <\/strong><\/a>in <strong>Valenciennes<\/strong>, een nieuwe technologische benadering: het combineren van Li-Fi (internet via licht) en <strong>LoRaWAN <\/strong>(langbereiknetwerk met lage bandbreedte) om de overdracht van medische gegevens te verbeteren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deze hybride aanpak, <strong>Cross Technology Communication (CTC)<\/strong> genaamd, beoogt te voorzien in een belangrijke behoefte van de telegeneeskunde: zowel lichte gegevens (hartslag, zuurstofsaturatie) als zware bestanden (r\u00f6ntgenfoto&#8217;s, video&#8217;s van tumoren) <strong>in realtime, betrouwbaar en snel door te sturen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Met <strong>Li-Fi<\/strong> kunnen gegevens met zeer hoge snelheden (tot <strong>1 Gbps<\/strong>) over korte afstanden worden verzonden, terwijl LoRaWAN grote landelijke gebieden bestrijkt, zelfs waar conventionele netwerken tekortschieten.
